Thursday Evening

 We are on the home stretch! There are some tired Scouts but overall spirits are good. One of the tough things for Scout leaders is watching them fail (in a safe way) so they learn and grow from those circumstances.  There have been instances of that happening here but each time, the Scouts have risen to the challenge and grown from it. Proud of them all.

We avoided the calls for rain all day and instead had rain for about an hour which then lowered the temperature.  We'll take it! Overall, the weather has been about as good as we could ask for at Summer Camp.

The adults took a 3.6mile hike and explored some of the rock formations and scoped out where the ROAR program is (Rocking Out At the Rocks) at this camp. Beautiful sights!

A large portion of our troop is currently at the gaga pit as to be expected. Definitely a mainstay! 6 scouts are at camp now playing card games. Love this free play time where the Scouts lead their own interactions and bond together even more

Friday Morning

 Good morning West Virginia and Ohio! It's the LAST day of camp. We survived the ~1hr thunderstorm last night about 230am. Mr. Morris has perfected his dismount from the hammock and detaching it while rushing into his nearby tent without getting wet. Today has a higher humidity (88%) than temperature high (85*) but cloudy so we'll take it! The young men did a great job with the camp flag raising and raised the bar for how it's done.  This morning Mr. Millet went through the merit badge list with each individual scout verifying which ones they attended (including add-ons) and each scout is aware of what they need to do to ensure they get credit for each requirement and badge they've earned. This is where personal responsibility comes into play. Later today includes the campwide games and closing campfire. Along with pre-packing. We Have Arrived.

 Greetings All!!!   It was a very easy ride up. We are settling in and have just finished Tacos, Takkis and Oreos for desert!  We did have some rain blow through shortly after we got here but everyone is doing good!!  We have very limited cell and connection and having some blog connectivity issues but we will keep you all in the loop!    Tomorrow we will get a camp tour and check in at 1300, and get ready for the week!!  Everyone is having a blast and doing great!!!!

Monday Evening

 Good evening folks back in Ohio! First full day of camp is in the book and multiple merit badges are completed. This camp does 3hr blocks (most 1 day and some are 2 different days). The scouts had mixed reviews on it depending on the merit badge. 3hrs for fishing = 👍. 3hrs for a "boring" merit badge = 👎. Weather was absolutely amazing today. A bit chilly to start it off but 70s and sunny for the day's activities. Cant ask for more. Well, yes we can! Same tomorrow please.  The 1/4 mile zipline was a hit with the youth and the adult that tackled that. Open shooting tonight also drew a crowd.
